Postdoctoral Research Fellowship (2020-22)
I recently completed a two-year postdoctoral research fellowship through the Humanities Research Institute at UIUC and as part of the American Council of Learned Societies/DRIVE fellowship program, hosted by the College of the Liberal Arts and Sciences. As a postdoctoral fellow of the "Training in Digital Methods for Humanists," a faculty development initiative sponsored by the Illinois Program for Research in the Humanities, based on UIUC's Liberal Arts and Science's model of faculty development, known as "Study in a Second Discipline," I took courses on digital methods and began research on a digital humanities research project. With this fellowship, my overarching goals were two-fold: to bridge the emerging field of digital humanities (DH) with film studies, and to expand DH scholarship within the context of foreign languages, particularly Hispanic, Peninsular studies.
